Ignore shopping and spending big bucks in a department store. Taking the escalators up and down the whole building within nine point six eight minutes should be the newest fashion!

I have just realized that I am becoming an extinct animal here. So many of my friends went out clubbing and drinkin' all night!!! Hahah I received some invitations since the day Paul invited me to his birthday party, which was held in a nightclub, but I rejected all. On behalf of the good ol' Peeeeeeeeeeeeetah Rabbit who is in mainland China now and in order for me to be H.A.P.P.Y aka G.A.Y for once, I dare YOU to join the "Sober Club" blogring http://www.xanga.com/groups/group.aspx?id=226855! MWAHAHAHAH. Ok I guess I might be the only member or one of the few members. SIGH.

The xanga server was down on the days these events happened, so I used Microsoft Word and pasted the following here. Ignore the time difference. This entry was meant to be posted on Sunday July 4, 2004.

Jeffrey Y. Chen is leaving to California today, and 'tis raining heavily on the Taipei streets...
After messaging him almost daily this summer, I got to know him more...but I wish to forget him for some reason. Distance will separate us two within the next two to eighty years if I am still around. When he chatted with Ed and Michelle one night on a server, he seemed quite talkative and happy. He will have new friends, and I will too. Perhaps I am getting dull with him.
One year and a half worth of friendship...and still lasting...
I still can't forget him. I planned to ignore him on msn messenger, but I knocked on his door again last night while he was having fun with his ipod mp3 player and maybe packing. Maybe I should really wait for the day he gets really bored so he can message me first!
I guess I will really miss those good ol' days with him wherever I go.
SIGH...
If interested, read about him in my previous entry, the one below this one.

About a year ago, my dad introduced me his friend from Hsin Chu, who introduced his son Jason to me. At first, my family invited Jason to tour around Taipei for a day, but he did not feel comfortable by then since he did not know anyone from my family. So I started chatting with him on yahoo! messenger and after a year, Jason came to Taipei to visit!
We planned to meet each other around the Shingkong Mitsukoshi Department Store across the Taipei Main Train Station at 10:00, but when I got there, I did not see anyone that looked like the teenager from the pictures he sent me. While using the cellphone to find each other and play hide-and-seek at the same time, he first caught me by pointing his magic finger across the square. When I matched him with the picture he gave me, which was taken a school year ago, he looked so different! @@||| He seemed really tan and skinny with a waistline of 28 inches!
So after finding him, we went to eat beef noodles around Tao Yuan Street, and he got a really small appetite. We left with him only finishing forty percent of the whole bowl, and I took him to the Olympia Bakery and bought him two puffs--his favorites that would be all eaten by his mother before he had the chance to grab one in his nice cuddlesome home in Hsin Chu. Somehow, that handsome guy ate messily, and the cream started sticking around his mouth. Since I forgot to bring some tissue, I went to a convenient store about bought a pack for him, just to wipe off the cream when he gave me a smile.
On the MRT subway, he looked around while chatting, and he told me numerous things about girls wearing fewer layers of clothing here in Taipei. He told me stuff about different passengers just by observing, and he did have a sharp sense. I was quite amazed when he discovered many interesting things cause I often just stared at the route map above the doors when I took the MRT...
So we walked to Taipei 101, the place where he had only passed by during this school field trip. He did not seem interested to shop since he claimed everything to be feminine, and so we did a popular sport of his and his friends': riding the escalator with joy...We took the escalator to the fourth floor and I took him to Page One to smell books' essence. Since he could not really read the English words, I took him to the computer section since he is interested in computer stuff such as Java, C++, Linux, and other things I do not know...Finally! WE'VE DONE SOMETHING! We spent ten minutes in the bookstore and then rode off to Tien Mu.
He slept for a while on the bus while I showed him some places we passed, and he introduced me some songs he heard on the bus while looking at the tv screen with awe. After passing by roads and alleys, we arrived at Tien Mu and headed straight to Warner's.
Since he wished to watch Spiderman 2, I went to buy tickets for the 15:05 session. Somehow, I saw a 1000NT bill reaching from my left, and it was Jason telling me that he wished to pay. As the host and as a person who lived in Taipei, I did not want a guy who had only come to Taipei three times and would get lost easily in this city paying for the tickets...so I stuffed my money into the ventanilla (ticket window), but somehow the air conditioning rejected my money and the bills flew out of the window onto the floor. Jason stretched his arm and stabbed his bill onto the platform, and so I was really embarrASSed when he paid for the movies, which came along with the food. Since the movie began in thirty minutes, I took him around my school after buying Taster's cheesecake for his family and walked around the walls due to school renovation. He saw the field and the red building and the badminton court, his mingling spot and pop machine since he would bet his friends five drinks to play badminton. After strolling around, we headed back to Warner's and marched to Auditorium numero 5.
I gave him all the popcorn, hotdog, and churros since he had the ability to eat those, and not I sir! So while my fanta accompanied me, I heard Jason munching on the sweet popcorn and slurping his coke right next to me. He breathed loudly during the movie too since the movie was a bit sentimental for him.
Spiderman 2 was actually better than I thought. The plot actually flows and the characters are amazing. The music and a few lines made that movie interesting and humorous too. HEY YOU! PAY YOUR RENT! And 'tis so funny watching Spiderman taking the elevator, but I disbelieve that eating green veggies and working out will allow you to fly in the sky, Matrix style. I still remember that auntie claiming "Hero allows us to...die with pride." Yes, everyone needs a hero, a legend to follow, but the ending sucks! I am not gonna wait for the third episode and have a countdown!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Ok well, at least I was glad that Mary Jane found her true love =)
Just weird though...if that orange "sun" can attract metal, wouldn't Doc Octopus be attracted due to those metal arms? Hahaha 'tis just a movie. After chatting, watching the movie, and eating the food, we went to Shih Lin night market and ate ice before touring around.
Jason told me about getting a dog, but his mother and the apartment would not allow this, so I took him to two pet shops where he gazed at the kittens, mice, and puppies. Somehow, we spotted a condom booth and he soon called his friends to share the joy...and he started telling me about passing by a large condom shop at Tamshui AGAIN!!! Due to the hot and humid weather, we headed to the department store and ate dinner together.
Jason's family and Mr. Hwang came to dinner. Mr. Hwang is my dad's friend from Ohio, and he was the person that introduced Case Western Reserve University to me. He, along with Jason's dad Mr. Hsu and my dad, were from the same high school. Jason's brother, Ping, was so tall and tricky in using words! Hahah. I found out the two brothers' favorites: playing basketball, video games, and chat about computer games @@...So we ate dinner and Jason kept looking at me with a creepy smile for some reason...
Ramble. Chat. SMILE!
Dinner ended around 22:00, and Jason needed to get back to Hsin Chu since he had summer school reviews for the exams he will be taking for college applications next year. After a farewell, the whole family headed home and my family took Mr. Hwang to his relative's at Yangming Shan while chatting about tornadoes, fishing, and snowing in Ohio.
After interacting with Jason for a day, he did not see as bad as I originally thought. Before on yahoo, he talked about breaking up with his girlfriend who always dreamed of her ex-boyfriend, and when I invited Jason to come to Taipei, he was thinking of inviting some girls to come along too. I thought that Jason was another bum that only chased girls since he was always playing computer games and talking on the cellphone until he slept at 1 or 2:00. He did not seem to study that much...but after his visit, he seemed pretty naive as a little brother, and he would chat about many things as a close friend. He is actually nice as a person, and he messaged me when he got home late last night.
Now, Jason should be at school, hopefully reviewing and not sleeping until 20:00 tonight. Hahah he usually slept from 1 to 13:00 in summery days, and so he looks haggard yesterday at the end of the gathering.

That is a picture of everyone: Mr. and Mrs. Hsu, Jason, my mother, Ping, my dad, and Mr. Hwang. Sorry for the U.G.L.Y. background! I didn't choose it!

Ping is sooooooo tall, and he is only two years younger than I am...and that's Sleepy on the other side. Fatty in the middle! Ok Snow White's other four dwarves are still missing...
And finally...

Joe and Jason! His eyes are bigger in this picture, but the flash is still killing him! He actually looks cool!
Errrrrrr Jason took some pictures of me with his cellphone, but they were ugly so I demolished those.
So now the Hsus want me to go visit them at Hsin Chu, but Jason should focus on his studies. Heh I do hope to see them again in the future and keep bugging Jason and Ping on yahoo!
